Online Total Nitrogen Analyzer

Online total nitrogen analyzer with persulfate oxidation and UV spectrophotometry, 0–100 mg/L range, 0.01 mg/L resolution, automatic dilution, calibration and quality-control functions for continuous water monitoring.

Online Total Nitrogen Analyzer

HydroMetric online total nitrogen analyzer for continuous determination of total nitrogen in drinking water, surface water, municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater. The analytical sequence uses persulfate oxidation to convert nitrogen-containing compounds to nitrate, followed by ultraviolet spectrophotometric measurement.

Technical Specifications

Measurement principle Persulfate oxidation followed by UV spectrophotometry
Measurement range 0–100 mg/L
Accuracy ±10% of reading or ±0.1 mg/L, whichever is greater
Repeatability ≤ ±5%
Resolution 0.01 mg/L
Sampling modes Periodic measurement adjustable from 1 hour to 30 days; whole-point timing; optional external trigger
Calibration Manual or automatic calibration
Typical maintenance cycle About once per month
Analog output 4–20 mA
Communication Modbus serial communication; interface configuration should be confirmed for the selected project version

Process & Reliability Functions

  • Sapphire-core multi-port valve for chemical resistance and long service life.
  • Syringe-pump dosing for stable sample and reagent metering.
  • Automatic dilution to adapt the measuring range to changing water quality.
  • Built-in quality-control routines including recovery checks, zero verification, standard-sample verification and parallel-sample testing.
  • Automatic fault diagnosis and alarm logging for over-range, reagent shortage and component faults.
  • Data and alarm logging for unattended monitoring applications.

Typical Applications

  • Municipal wastewater inlet and outlet monitoring
  • Industrial wastewater discharge monitoring
  • Surface-water environmental monitoring
  • Drinking-water and process-water monitoring where TN trending is required

Integration & Selection Guidance

For system selection, provide the expected TN range, sample matrix, required sampling interval, installation environment and preferred PLC/SCADA interface. HydroMetric can confirm the suitable cabinet and communications configuration for the project.
